Defiant

Down in the depths of this dismal disease
that batters my body and buckles my knees,
restricted repasts are a regular chore
but now, I am nettled like never before,
denied my delectable cheese.

What previous crime
in another lifetime
condemned me to torture like this?
I’ll stomach a stone
for some sharp Provolone
and swallow the pain for some Swiss.

All over some swiss?
It does not sound like bliss
Maybe it's just a tease
And you can eat cheese as you please

I love your poetry. I write it sometimes. Mine don't always rhyme but what it says it just as important. Keep writing so I can keep reading.

Ah- there are some foods I'll die early for rather than give up. I'm trying to visit all the A-Z Challenge Blogs this month.
