Discombobulated

I'm trying to shut down my mind
but the switch is a challenge to find
I'm wandering halls
and groping the walls
denying the fact that I'm blind

a person in need of a break
that's hoping (for everyones sake)
to hear a click
pretty damn quick
before I have all I can take.

Pigeonholed

A dozen grayish pigeons were in flight
surrounding one that looked completely white
as though they could rescind their compromise
by shadowing the flawless through the skies

ad nauseum

You have the right to annoy
I have the right to ignore
accost me once more with your ploy
and you might end up on the floor

you're also entitled to brag
as I am to likewise berate
or follow the instinct to gag
when you're telling us you're so great.

Out of Will

Everyone stopped
as the firemen chopped
and the temperature dropped

the ice was thick
they didn't need to be quick
I felt a little sick

things looked bleak
they pulled him from the creek
this world disowns the meek.

Pattern Maker

We measure out materials to make what we desire
oblivious that all our plans begin with someone higher
who spins the thread that binds the fabric bolt by wondrous bolt
and sometimes hurls the other kind when scoundrels need a jolt.

Endgame

Rituals of death are grim
is our existence but a whim?
No one living knows for fact
if they'll rue their foulest act
or cease to be when day grows dim.

We leave behind an empty husk
departing in the daunting dusk
removed from plans that failed to gel
and praying if there be a hell
the stay is brusque.

Head Trip

In my mind I see a road
disappearing through the trees
that leads to an abode
far away from the disease
that threatens to corrode

the ailing structure seen
as the only way to live
a merciless machine
that will take all you can give
and make you mean

as average as the next
that blankly stands in line
just waiting to be vexxed
by the new improved design
allowing one to text

away their share of guilt
for purchasing the lie
I've watched my toleration wilt
and bid the world goodbye
from the sanctum I have built.

Future Relic

I tried to express my want
but couldn't find a true font
that redefined my greed
as instances of need

so I gouged out a glyph
that let me play a new riff
which someone millennia hence
may see as a symbol of sense.

blip

I've never stopped dreaming
though at times I cease believing
then tears start streaming
and I get goofy grieving
unsettled by my seeming
defeat, thus deceiving
myself before redeeming
the faith that's so relieving
which helps inspire beaming.

Chops

An axe can swing
and really ring
if you sling it with some zing
so whack away
in E or A
and never fret - just play play play!

Eighty-Sixed

It's crystal clear
that no one here
is fond of banks
or thermal gear

this winter ranks
in the blankety-blanks
the lowest tier
beneath the tanks.

Toppled

A bullet grazed
upon the lush
demesnes I used to roam
she looked amazed
until the rush
of agony hit home

we once ruled
the open streets
two urchins running wild
but passion cooled
and our retreats
were hastily defiled

a killing spree
we can't defend
is bound to bring us pain
now I see
the coming end
of our uncertain reign.

Rehabilitated

Solitude is key
to solace in the pen
just leave the population be
and focus on your yen
becoming truly free
if you stop demanding When?
and scrawl away within your hole
until the board decrees parole.

Supplicant

When those pipes burst
he knew he was cursed
to dream of the best
but live with the worst

to never know rest
or feather his nest
unless (of course) first
he could somehow be blessed.

Input

Every little jingle leaves
a trace of bittersweet
upon the silver surface of my tongue
I'm just a strand that's incomplete
the craftsman deftly weaves
into the cloth that has yet to be hung.

Changing

Mothering the brood
can put one in a mood
if you let it

wiping asses stinks
but only takes a couple blinks
then forget it.

Reciprocal

The wind knocks some snow from the trees
the coldness creeps in by degrees
when glistening whiteness is fierce
wherever it happens to pierce

but the sun is returning the warmth
we've felt for it all these years
and if we're still here in a month
we'll cheer when the chill disappears.

Indicative

The breadth of the web
depends on the strength
of the ploy (which can ebb)
reducing the length

The depth of the den
is designated by
the need for a pen
or wide open sky

The bloom of a berth
is no measure of
the occupant's worth
compared to their love.

Resonance

You can hear the churchbells ringing down redemption for the throng
promising to pardon those undone by doing wrong
and though it seems salvation's been a longshot all along
I feel my faith reverberate within me loud and strong.

Preponderance

I pondered my purpose today
(for at least 5 seconds I'd say)
to seek an enlightening clue
but nothing revealing came through

so I simply went on my way
and pondered my purpose today
when I had rare moments to think
for I felt I was close to the brink

of discovering something profound
which made my lagging heart pound
as I pondered my purpose today
dismissing this current dismay

with confidence I will soon see
a meaningful motive to be
a nobler cause to covey
than the purpose I pondered today.

Intimation

The hands of time are callous claws
that grab one by the throat
its visage overcome with flaws
and anxiousness to gloat
its former mane is sparse and gray
much like the winter sky
reminding me again today
there is no time to cry.

Chaser

I spied a creature crouching
upon a moonlit hill
but I was busy slouching
and it denied my kill
because it heard me stomp.

The wily beast kept going
kept lurching through the bog
but its fatigue was showing
as I began to slog
my way across the swamp

for everywhere were broken
brambles from its flight
my hunter's heart awoken
I stalked it all the night
a truly splendid romp!

Fifth

Five was such a flash
and I can't seal the gash
through which the seconds pour
but wish for many more
while savoring the bash
for he whom we adore.

Illustrated

I found some old pictures of friends I once had
in happier days when I was a lad
before I found out most things go bad

We were all smiling like I used to do
when everything seemed so special and new
and I still believed that dreams come true

I found some old pictures of friends I once had
and for a brief second I was glad
but then I just continued going mad.

Agenda

The meeting of the mindless has begun
and it should be a barrel full of fun
exchanging better ways for shlubs to shirk
they love their jobs so never have to work

does every outfit have it's share of duds
secure because they're the owner's buds?
There are more important battles to be won
it's time to spew my spiel so gotta run!

Chipping Away

I wish that I could think of something clever
but it's not like you can simply pull a lever
and witty words come pouring forth ad hoc
especially when you approach the block
but if you find it's metamorphic rock
it could be the greatest fodder ever.

Touched

This is my hypothesis
of why a god seeks mortal bliss:
imagine knowing everything
but never feeling love's sweet sting,
the passion of a long wet kiss,
the turbulence a touch can bring;

to crave such sensual delight
can surely cause internal plight
for beings from a higher plane
when fierce reactions snap the rein
which interrupts their holy flight
for fleeting joy despite the pain.

Succession

When Janus opens up the door
then Februus comes to the fore
inviting Mars to hurry through
so life can spring forth and renew.
