Tenebrous

I see the ray, but not the shine
I feel the heat, but not the warmth,
forever balanced on the line
between redemption and remorse.

I long for peace, but earn disdain
I look for light, but fail the task—
resigned to this obscure domain
until the day that I can bask.

Love how this goes back and forth with longing, looking for balance but never finding it, yet not losing hope.

Remarkable.

Yes, it walks lines well.

It does often seem the only escape from work is an escape from life itself.

I would think any ventures away from the line would be even more dangerous and unrewarding. The juxtapositions of opposites are not always 180 degrees opposed. It has been my experience that basking is vastly over-rated. Wonderful think-piece, big guy.

A very nice balancing act. I can see that line that we all walk.

Hi Sara, thanks this one has been on the back burner for a while.

Hey Noah, how do you find time to comment with all those great poems you're writing?

Hi oz, so true.

Hey bubba you better watch it, I might start to believe I'm actually making sense.

Hi Harry, nice to see you and thanks.

Yo Gerald one word - PRACTICE! :)
