Petty people hide
behind the laws they make
pompous fools compelled by pride
ridiculously fake
like badges made of tin
as trite as this small town
that criminals display and grin
as though they wear a crown
never dare to cross
the crooked in control
they'll lie then laugh about your loss
power takes its toll.
