Beyond this door lies the daunting unknown,
a world of mystery one knock away,
just grab my brass ring and you will be shown.
Don’t fear the darkness because you’re alone
with a satin caress it begs you to stay,
beyond this door lies the daunting unknown.
Forget all those sins for which you atone
embrace your desires, come in and play,
just grab my brass ring and you will be shown;
an icy chill that cuts right to the bone
reminds you suddenly, you are the prey.
Beyond this door lies the daunting unknown,
leery feet falter on cold drafty stone
curiosity calls, leading the way,
just grab my brass ring and you will be shown
when these rusty old hinges creak and groan
another morsel getting carried away—
Beyond this door lies the daunting unknown
just grab my brass ring and you will be shown.

Some doors are maybe best left closed?! ♥
Knock, knock... ;)
Yikes, cold and scary..no thanks. I think I'll stay far away. :)
My first visit to your blog. What a misnomer! Not an average poet at all. A very fine poem in very good company. I especially enjoyed "Processor". Congratulations.
Hi guys! I wrote this one a while ago but wanted to be in triple T so enjoy.
PS Dave - Thanks, stop by often. You know if I had a dollar for everytime someone told me that I'd be oh, about 10 bucks richer ;) The trick is to get a publisher feelin' that way (as Journey said)
This is so well written...

this poem sets the teeth on edge and chills the spine - as it should!
Hi gautami and Isabel, thanks for checking it out and taking time to comment.
Bob,
You have really set the scene with your words. Truly emotive and tempting too........
Best wishes, Eileen
Thanks Eileen!
I loved it and I loved the repetitive, lyrical tone!
Well Done~
I like this one, "an icy chill that cuts right to the bone
reminds you suddenly, you are the prey.
Beyond this door lies the daunting unknown".
Hey Ella, I thank you. :-)
