There's always some kind of a line
we're constantly challenged to cross
or scraped through the dust to define
when facing a possible loss

or populated when we desire
to purchase a product we need
or clung to if threatened with dire
conclusions where someone may bleed

or dropped in the water to catch
competitors merely for sport
or placed in a poem one will hatch
if they are the wittier sort.
