Foundation

See the church with its pristine steeple,
a tribute to God from devoted people.
Fire destroyed only plaster and wood
not the bedrock on which it stood,
for love is more solid than any concrete
lending its strength to conquer defeat,
so now as the rafters are joyfully raised
join us in singing Let Him Be Praised!

***Dedicated to the United Presbyterian Church here in Amsterdam, the place looks great.***

Hi Kim, Carrie and Dimps, this happened several years ago but it's the church my old music teacher goes to so I thought I'd clean this poem up and post it here.

Bob,
I too liked this poem very much, especially the ability, to see the very foundation.

I always enjoy visiting all churches, when I am visiting any city.

Best Wishes, Eileen
