Replenished rapids roar
as bawdy crows implore
me not to throw away
the scraps they so adore

but this is how we live
too self-consumed to give
until it’s all just gone one day
like water through a sieve.

Giving too much of ourselves,
our lives become too thin.

this is true but conventional sentiments infer that what we get in return is worth it, sometimes it is ;)
