Inclined

Wherever I go there are leaks
through fissures that negligence wreaks
and there is no shingle or tar
that could possibly cover each scar
resulting from ongoing streaks
of rotten luck that tends to mar
a life that seeks pleasanter peaks.

We can always see the peaks, wherever we are Bob; not so the fissures. God knew what he was doing.

There have been times when I've momentarily lost sight of those peaks. However, they're always there, my friend.

I wish you a good Christmas. May the sun shine on you and yours, over the holidays and beyond.

Bob,

I can only echo the message left by Paul. Sometimes difficulties appear to be immovable, yet there is always an eventual glimmer of light.
The writing community offers this hope:)

Best Greetings,
