Dropped

The visits are surely descending
as interest is rapidly ending
in one with a voice all its own
but stony to kindnesses shown
an eremite eager for peace
which is only achieved through release
of the structures that ring rather hollow
without anyone that will follow
though loyalty only gets earned
when occasionally it gets returned.

It is amazing how quickly they taper away. It is a house of cards, in many ways.

Bob,
The message is clear in your words.
I comment when I can and try to frequently read your words.
Interaction is sometimes a one-sided and lonely venture.
You are on my Blog list....
Best festive wishes, Eileen :)

Hey no one to blame but myself, I just withdrew from the blogging community for a while, but I really really appreciate when good people such as yourselves take the time to comment. I hope you guys have a great holiday season!

Ha! I thought immediately of the online poetry "community."

It's a tough racket, leave a hundred comments, get twenty in return.

Fantastic rhymes, finely-priced vocabulary once again.

Hey Jack, in my case it was just needing a break but i'm really missing all my online peers and will get back into it after the new year. Thanks a lot for stopping by!!

Happy Holidays (even though I don`t know you beyond this screen). I`m usually more of the silent viewer myself, but I had to comment on this poem. Keep it up!! You`ve got a lot of awesome work (I know that is a sort of generic response, but it is authentic). :D

Thanks so much Andrew and same to you! I made up my mind a while ago to just keep putting it out there but it really does grow old without a few comments here and there, so thanks to you and the others that have helped keep me going recently. :-)
