The devil’s in the details
that’s why our vision fails
we can only face the truth so long
before our conscience rails
but who decides what’s wrong
consensus of the throng?—
deluded by what might have been
if we had just stayed strong,
denying purchase when
the darkling ducked its den
but then we’d have to own our guilt
for eyes to work again.

Ah yes, Bob, the old stick in the eye.
We all have perfect vision when looking at others' faults. Accepting our own failings is another matter entirely.
Hi FA, thanks much, maybe someday I'll have a book to review ;)
Hey Paul, yes it's true, and my eyes are failing fast.
