Zealots

A carpet of soldiers from last year's campaign
lie dead on the ground -- was their struggle in vain?
Some are still clinging to shiftier limbs
that held a reserve against wintry whims
their curled faded uniforms make them look poor
a sorrowful symptom of weathering war
made worse so because the unfeeling machine
will replace them with troops idealistically green.

Yo

Snow covered daffodils?
Talk about unwanted chills
hey spring, I just can't hold my tongue
in case you missed it -- you have sprung
so drop the unresponsive front
I'm tired and refuse to hunt
for clothes that cover up my form
and long to say "You're getting warm!"

Xyloid

Sometimes it rots
sometimes it's dry
riddled with knots
shaved for a ply

fashions a nest
or fosters a riff
becoming the best
when it's nice and stiff.

Woo

Your body is becoming something I can't live without
one look and deep inside my heart starts drumming
compelling me to ramble on compulsively about
something I can't live without -- your body so becoming.

Arrival

He saw the slow cessation
of light and then he knew
the end of all creation
for judgment time was due

the angels poured their vials
as holy trumpets wailed
unleashing many trials
where wickedness prevailed

then his eyes were blinded
by the aura of The Lord
and all were soon reminded
of the swiftness of His sword

Verisimilitude

They've made it seem
that every dream
is yours for the attaining
while they decide
which genocide
should cull the ones complaining

Buy, buy, buy,
it's all a lie
to make their wallets thicker
as they pollute
the destitute
to try and make them sicker

Those with brains
perceive the chains
that chafe, so unforgiving
but their charade
is so well made
that most believe they're living.

Unplug

Those asking "What's the matter?"
really tend to scatter
when told "Your pointless chatter."

Desensitized by violence
they're stupefied by science
instead of seeking silence

where muddied thoughts can settle
and nothing trite can nettle
those of tougher mettle.

Trepidation

My ears began to buzz
and I became chagrined
alert to any inkling
of atavistic twinkling
but it was just the wind
complaining like it does;

sufficiently removed
I resisted every urge
to seek intercession
for each past transgression
and tried my best to purge
the need that truth be proved.

Sting

Androgynous androids aim
to standardize the game
but if we never learn to strive
our race could wind up lame

and if we somehow do survive
a chosen few will thrive
with all the rest so tame
and ever loyal to the hive.

Red Dragon

It's crossed our skies so many times before
unleashing havoc as it thunders by
and shakes our planet to the very core
for there are certain laws we can't deny
like those that are imparted from on high
despite the fact that leaders scream "Ignore!"
we've got to make a choice before we die
to stand for right or bow to evil spoor.
Destruction will begin when mountains shake
and oceans overflow upon the land
eradicating both the strong and frail
that perish in the great chaotic wake
of one whose dark malevolence has spanned
the ages with a sweeping crimson tail.

Quirky

Anyone can shear a bolt
or suffer an impromptu jolt
that knocks them slightly out of whack
until they get their bearings back;
humanity is thusly geared:
we all can act a little weird.

Temperate

The anxious buds begin to sprout
as birdsong echoes cross the sky
which makes me less inclined to pout
despite this fear of what draws nigh

our universe has many threats
but we must live, not dwell on doom
and banish unresolved regrets
if this be our last chance to bloom.

Portentous

Don't heed the haughty seer who believes they know it all
for there are many reasons that a dynasty must fall
but don't ignore the whisper when your instinct starts to call
as evil has a tendency to make our casings crawl

Oppressive

A very clear
cerulean sky.
The atmosphere?
It's time to die.

Cerulean sky
it means one thing
it's time to die
for drones to sting,

it means one thing,
their double speak
for drones to sting
is 'aid the weak'.

Their double speak,
the atmosphere,
is ' aid the weak '
it's very clear.

Nuance

Just look at the symbols they're using
and think of the message they're sending
they boast of their blatant abusing
and tell us submission is trending

we have to demolish the dogma
that keeps us entombed in the system
so when they thematically flog ya
turn off the damn tele -- RESIST THEM!
