I hate to sound pretentious
When simple words can frame
Elusive truths we seldom want to claim
For they can be contentious
What’s your interpretation?
That’s how the fight begins
But life is not about who wins
It’s a constant education
And pride is so deceptive
Don’t listen when it whispers spurn
Imagine what you just might learn
By being more receptive.
