Uniparty

I’m not fond of either side
They ALL have cheated, pilfered, lied
We, the people, must put aside
Our differences and tan some hides!

Dismantled

The salt has lost its savor
The fake are now in favor
And everyone seems so hell bent
On lauding bad behavior

It really is appalling
To watch our standards falling
To placate those whose time is spent
On indolence or mauling.

Ambivalent

Should I heed the alarm

Or be tardy again

And rely on my charm

I mean, what’s the harm

We’re so near the end

Should I heed the alarm?

Variability

What’s your tempo, fast or slow,
A zombie or a dynamo?
On some days I am just so-so
On others I will go-go-go.

No Benefits

They freely don the chains
Just so they don’t have to work
But once their free will wanes
Those links are tough to shirk
And now in every little town
They’re dragging everybody down.

Dystopic

When you say what no one wants to hear
Your calendar gets very clear
But I have never lived in fear

Of what other people think of me
I'm simply stating what I see
I just wish such a world never had to be.

Famished

The oven's droning loudly next to me
and on the left a freezer hums along,
I'm stewing on this thing called Destiny
but feel I’m simply one among the throng,
for nothing in my life would indicate
any hint of a noble cause or such,
it’s time I filled another empty plate
for those convinced they'll never get too much.
The barman tells me someone liked their wings
I numbly shrug and tell him, “Hey that’s great.”
it’s good to know I’m not a total waste,
and though I crave to do artistic things
I guess this is the fullness of my fate:
To hunger but to never get a taste.

Pregaming

The best way to start? Have a grateful heart
And always give as much as you can spare,
Abundance of compassion starves despair,
Have a grateful heart, the best way to start.

Cold Turkey

Halt the hate
Retaliate
Reject the lie
And thus deny
The anchor herd
Like frozen bird.
Sick of it?
Just quit!

Blue?

Help the greedy have their fill
Let the violent maim and kill
Enable crooks to freely prey
Welcome world to the liberal way

Ensuring there is endless war
Keeping loyal voters poor
A constant crisis guaranteed
The liberal way, oh yes indeed

Their religion? Worship the state!
Their favorite hymn, the song of hate,
Wishing it was over my friend?
The liberal way will be our end.

Abraded

Once the innocence is scoured away
From the tender face we knew
We knowingly shake our heads and say
My, how they grew

If only we could remain pristine
For more than just a minute
But minions of the mean machine
Can’t wait to rub our noses in it.

C'est la vie

Everyone starts sweet
Until they let you see
The depth of their deceit
A fait accompli.

Deep Fake

Is this poem from me
Or a virtual facsimile
Endowed by data gleaned
When we were quarantined
And every click I let
Be entered on the interNET?

Beware the evil seed
No loyalty is guaranteed
A digital domain
Where meddling mice reign
Will start to take control
And DOWNload your soul.

The Anatomy of Estrangement

When I was young I was told
‘Everyone’s the same’
Although I had a different mold
I tried to play the game

And now the contradictions scream
For though we share a race
Everyone’s heart doesn’t seem
To be in the same place.

Captivated

I saw the new moon dangle
At an awkward type of angle
And felt myself atangle

With tentacles of light
It curled into the night
To grasp the dreamers tight.

Moderate

The hourglass was flipped
When the garden was profaned
Eternity abruptly stripped
Our souls forever stained

The degradation never stops
Until we decompose
Unless a tainted spirit drops
Into the lake of woes

Temptations of the flesh are sweet
But tend to foster rot
Attempt to limit what you eat
Before the final plot.

Sleight

How many times have we been fooled?
It’s really hard to say
The class that has forever ruled
Gets better every day
At making those beneath them squirm
Pretending they observe a term
There are no limits to what they do
Can you honestly say you know what’s true?

Hit Making

Changing the tune because you can
Could make it disjointed and jarring
Music should move or mollify man
Not spur inharmonious sparring.

Best Life

Is it best to have one
Where you only have fun
And nothing gets done
Unless it benefits you

Or should you be more
Of an advocate for
The hungry and poor
What good can you do?

Stamina

The best thing about sweat?
It can wash away regret
At least until you cool down
Then it’s anybody's bet.

Timely

When feathers sprout
The seconds gout
And get everywhere as it zooms about

A blink, a year
Does it disappear?
The death of another eon is near.

Blustering

The gray November sky
Is gloomy and I sigh
A gust that blows some leaves about
Forgive the burst that I let out
I thought I could defy
The gray November sky.

Exit Strategy

Sometimes we must walk away
from what we have achieved
because it would be worse to stay
among the self-deceived

who don’t even feel shame
sometimes. We must walk away
from those engrossed in a game
we refuse to ever play,

to their ultimate dismay
as they observe us retreat,
sometimes we must. Walk away
or face eventual defeat

That’s just the way it goes
When narcissistic fools hold sway
As anyone afflicted knows
Sometimes we must walk away.

Breached

Whatever THEY say is brave
Whatever WE say is hate
Sovereignty is tough to save
When hostiles are inside the gate.

Infancy

Brooke was a defenseless waif
Who needed someone to keep her safe
And thus her dad (a genius) designed
A robot nanny, the first of its kind.

It was a bit ungainly, but very adept
At feeding and watching, ensuring she slept
And as Brooke grew, it learned to adapt
Protecting her always for it never napped

Unable to speak, it learned to talk
By flashing diodes on the end of a stalk
And truly felt love in a very short span
And that’s how the spark of life began.

Self Serving

I don’t see things the way other folks do
And it makes for an awkward silence or two
Which is why I began this site where I dish
My words say as little (or as much) as you wish.

Accomplished

When it’s time to get things done
I set my jaw and get to work
But I also like to have some fun
So have been known to shirk;

We make our lives both good and bad
And sometimes we make such a mess
That we grow sad for what we had
And learn to goof a little less.

Laughable

Spare me your sniveling sniff
You can’t tell a joke to a stiff
They’ll tell you – you stink
Who cares what they think,
Does it really make much of a diff?

Nested

They give us tools so that we can perceive
The defects in those silken lies they weave
But data never really does supply
An answer for the ones who wonder why
The brood has been beguiled to believe
They're better off enslaved than free to fly.

Out of the Panderverse

Life isn’t facile for a fossil
A curmudgeon quite colossal,
The trained abhor those who don’t believe
The programming that panders every eve.
