Trepidation

My ears began to buzz
and I became chagrined
alert to any inkling
of atavistic twinkling
but it was just the wind
complaining like it does;

sufficiently removed
I resisted every urge
to seek intercession
for each past transgression
and tried my best to purge
the need that truth be proved.

Visiting during the #blog challenge. Love poetry and admire your work. I write fiction. What would we do if we couldn't write.
