Congregation

They're back with a vengeance this year
those ebon carousers that ceaselessly caw
in fact that's all you can hear
but why did they reappear
I wonder what's the irresistible draw

and then the anchor clarifies:
a local lily ascends another rung
which must have prompted the reprise
of those that populate the skies
a canon to the saintly loudly sung.

I can hear the cacaphony in your verse! Effective use of alliteration as well.

Loved the sense of rhythm in this--great sense of the sound of it--it would be great to hear this one aloud

Bob,

This is a very loud sounding piece. The noise is deafening....Circling above the praiseworthy chorus...
I imagine an autumnal scene in a churchyard, with those Hitchcock birds, close by...

Sunday Greetings,
Eileen :)

Awesome display of rhyming and vocabulary. What a great scene, quite a hilarious take on nature.

I enjoy reading poems that rhymes. Its much more appealing to read and there's a depth in it. It just roll out of your tongue when you read it.
