I try to find a remedy
for this malaise that’s caging me
but all I do is flounder in confusion,
of all the poultices applied
the only one I can abide
is pouring forth these words in great profusion;
with every stinging verb I place
my sluggish pulse begins to race
imagining escape is over yon,
but each new ending punctuates
the fact that no one here relates—
this compound sentence just runs on and on.

Just frame it well- it will pass.
Oh wait- it's a no frame environment. How silly of me to have forgotten.

I've always loved this one. You have so much beautiful work buried in these folders. I'm glad some of it is sneaking out!
Oh wow, this is amazing.
[nice piece]
Ah! My how the doldrums can be dispersed by a few well placed verbs! This was very nice and also encouraging at the same time. Thank you for sharing it with us.
some times i take my greatest pleasure from the sentences that just wont die... for as long as they have life,, i have vision... excellent write bob...
a tickle of humor in a kernel of truth for writers...on & on...those words keep coming, thank goodness!
I like how the second stanza of this poem is so breathless.
