Lady Liberty struggles, bound and gagged
By the specter of deceased fundamentals—
Into the abyss maliciously dragged,
Powerless against the temperamental.
Tarnished balance no longer weighing true
Proudly displayed like a trophy of war
Signifies the days of equal justice are through,
Autonomy has become the bureaucrats’ whore.
Gradually disarmed and demoralized
This valiant heroine resists in vain—
Freedom has been carefully sanitized,
Self-expression and truth viciously slain.
