The birds begin the day
By twittering away
I whistle right along
Not sure of what I say
With every lilting trill
I feel a little thrill
Nothing like communal song
To reinforce God’s will
And I’m hoping, as your host
That this idyllic post
Is one the sadly jaded throng
Enjoys the most.
