Elemental Extrication

Wisps of vibrancy in the air
counteract mundane despair,
expectation’s heady scent
stimulates my need to care.

Drops of buoyancy in the sea
cleanse away bleak misery,
determination’s bracing mist
invigorates my amity.

Sparks of clemency in the fire
cauterize untoward desire,
affirmation’s soothing heat
mitigates my pointless ire.

Grains of errancy on the beach
congregate and neatly breach
reservation’s barricade which
obfuscates new lands to reach.

Hi, I was looking over your blog and found exactly what I was looking for. An excellent poem by a gifted poet. Then again $900 a month for having fun isn't bad! Damn spam!

That vicarious thrill
Does over me spill
When my comment count
Has a raised amount
Even though
I know
That the sons of bitches
With their sales pitches
Took no time
To read a line

I love the rhythm and the positive flow of energy in the end. It reflects your inner nature Bob. Thanks.

not sure anyone else will get this when they read the poem, or that you intended perhaps intended this (i would be very surprised if you did)... the poem drew a picture in my mind of a rising tide engulfing a beautifully made sand castle. the way the remainder of waves drags the sand back into the sea as if trying to capture the land entirely.
it really is a beautiful and austere thing to watch, if you haven't taken the time to see a tide rise onto a beach, then i highly recommend you do.
thinking about it, it has been a while since i sat at the beach for long enough...
maybe tomorrow.

thank you so much for the memory and the image. i feel like i owe you for this one.

Hey Oz, I love your poem!

Hi Danny, thanks a lot, I really appreciate that.

Hey Katy, thanks, it actually started as a spring poem but rolled into the whole element theme and how it's elemental to our nature to try and learn so we can get to new places. I love the sandcastle thought though, may have to explore that now. ;)

Thanks a lot you guys, take care!

Bob
