As of late
I fluctuate
From: Wow, this sucks.
To: Things are great!

My daily feat?
To stay upbeat
And make some bucks
So I can eat.

I did my bit
But never fit
So learned to jam
To deal with it

I watched the super moon
Descend
And knew that all-too-soon
The end
Would absolutely be

But then I saw the blazing sun
Ascend
And thought Hey, I’m not done
I'll bend
The world to accommodate and see.

Offering

To see within a seed
The beauty of the bloom
One must first succeed
At looking past the gloom
That comes with certain doom.

To transit the abyss
Corporeal desires
To savor endless bliss
Must perch upon the pyres
Of sacrificial fires.

Creep

The weavers of the night
Leave their warp strung tight
To sparkle in the morning light

They make the finest silk
From iridescent milk
Like others of their ilk

I stumble through their creel
And shudder when I feel
Their lines, my arms pinwheel

And though I can’t hear
I’m sure somewhere near
One screams, “Get outta here!”

Incontrovertible

Don’t drive with your usual vigor
And maybe you won’t pull the trigger
Of one who is much like a gun
Restricting your options to run
For even though the case is closed
The evidence is never disposed.

Indulging

Optics

Would they fix the eyes

The well constructed lies

Unbroken

A stick, a stem, or stalk of straw
Is all that it would take
To make this weary, aging back
At last completely break
I can’t pretend my life is fine

Realization

Thinking I could
And proving you can

Wanderings

The spirit is willing
The body rebels
It scolds you for swilling
Gets achy and swells

But if you are able
Defer to the mind
It helps keep you stable
