Stretches

If you seek to illume
fill your stylus with light
but doctrines of doom
come from inkiest night

and moments of mirth
should be cherished as such
while we question our worth
or reluctance to touch

with the words we acquire
through precocious parley
as enigmas inspire
imagination to play.

I have always loved the word (and the idea of) enigma. This is nice, Bob.

    Hey Bob-

Thanks for visiting my blog. I greatly appreciate comments like yours - This community is so supportive of beginning writers like myself, it is great to hear feedback from "average" poets like yourself.

    ...

I agree with Noah, the rhyme scheme of this poem is hardly a scheme it seems so natural. Great work.
