Spoiling

The apple tree didn’t bloom this year
Perhaps the problem is rooted in fear
Of being ravaged once again
By those incapable of saying when

Creating dependents behooves the state
They go along with any mandate
But once they feel they deserve more
The rottenness goes right down to the core.
