Breakdown

Every drip is just a drop that drizzles drearily
outside my window where I watch the world so wearily—

*plink*

a puddle’s penetrated
perfect circles generated

*splash*

a lonely man frustrated
remembers days less inundated—

the gutter gulps down gallons and the wind begins to gust
as iron tenets slowly turn to silent ocher dust.
