Virtuosity

I frequently fret
as fingers forget
the key to compelling expression
but sometimes the scales
tear off weighty wails
which prompts me to voice this confession,
for on those rare nights
that deftness ignites
my chops with harmonic persuasion
I know it’s a gift
from across the great rift,
a melodically mystic occasion.

  1. If you have half the rhythm in your chops that you have in your rhymes, I doubt your fingers are too far a-fret.

"a gift from across the great rift"... great line!

  2. Beautiful!
We should all be so gifted. You should put your songs back on your site. You certainly have nothing to fret about!:)

  6. Mysticism must have rhythm. It has always been associated with music. And this definitely had it.

  7. Strum that string again and cast a magic spell. Your words are music that spell magic in itself.

    I wish you well.
