The sky, your eye, my favorite pie
the way I felt at our goodbye,
a lake, or jewels about to break,
one piercing shade it’s hard to fake,
a boat, a moat, a wailing note
your favorite fluffy winter coat,
a bruise, the news, of course suede shoes
the tone that shows you’ve paid your dues.
and...
ReplyDeletethe moon when it appears to soon
a Bobby Vinton ‘Velvet’ tune
Christmas when it’s spent apart
the color of a broken heart.
A place from which things arise without cause
a mood that tends to give us pause
but most of all, a place in wild yonder
where dreams prevail and hearts grow fonder.
You forgot a few!
Don’t you wonder sometimes
ReplyDeleteAbout sound and vision
Blue, blue, electric blue
That’s the colour of my room
Where I will live
Blue, blue
Pale blinds drawn all day
Nothing to do, nothing to say
Blue, blue
I will sit right down, waiting for the gift of sound and vision
And I will sing, waiting for the gift of sound and vision
Drifting into my solitude, over my head
Don’t you wonder sometimes
About sound and vision
David Bowie, "Sound and Vision"
Nice work Bob. Watch out though..once you start with colours...
Cheers

Excellent Shirley, I may have to post it as the second verse ;-)
ReplyDeleteHi Glenn, wow I don't think I've ever heard that song before but it really moved me. I remember going to a Bowie concert as more of a time killer than anything else but was blown away by his showmanship. I'm still contemplating orange. 8^D
I think Bowie still holds the record for largest rock concert here. I have seen him twice and am an occasional fan.. more for his earlier material.
