Where It's At

Don’t you see,
doesn’t anyone see?
It’s not about you
it’s not about me,
it’s about getting closer
to where we should be
the essence of chaos
and possibility,
dimensions of expression
called creativity.

  1. I hear ya. One of the things I love about Poets 101 is that it has stimulated my creative juices again, and it adds a new dimension to a day , where I can reflect or create. And watch others doing it too. It just enriches my life. Of recent times I have really enjoyed creating slices of life/characters/scenarios that are pure fiction, or at best nod to observations i have made. I guess that stuff has to be in my head somewhere, but sure as hell would hate to think it reflected my personality!
Anyway, its just so much more satisfying than doing a crossword (cryptic or otherwise.
By the way, is there anywhere on the web I could hear your performance with guitar et al?

  2. Hey Glenn, yes I know exactly what you mean. I used to write sparingly, only when 'the muse' would hit but now the more I write, the more I want to. I should be posting some songs I've written soon. I didn't perform on them because I hired pros to really make it sound good. I used to go to NY city every week and pitch my stuff, came pretty close to the elusive deal, but decided my lips were allergic to cheek if you know what I mean. ;^)

Hopefully this new band will keep going well and then I'll get some recordings done of new stuff with me actually playing too - stay tuned! May I suggest my teacher Matt Smith (link on right) one of the greatest guitar players I've ever been around and a great guy too.

  3. The last four lines... Very catchy to hear, and after lingering for a while -- thought-provoking. ^_^ Your focus when it comes to writing does exude much clarity. I admire your passion. ^_^

  4. Hi soulless, a rather ominous moniker you've chosen there.;-) Thanks for stopping by and leaving some nice comments. I'm glad it is coming through because I am very passionate about writing. Come back again! 8^D

  5. Hope to hear some of your stuff soon. Here in NZ we sometimes dont worry about the technicalities of sounding great, but play it with feeling. Dont know that there is any butt to kiss here anyway. Had a good listen to Matt's stuff today and was impressed by how easily i could just listen on and on to him:-)
